Jennings
Rebecca Anne Lacour (81), passed away peacefully with family and friends at her side on Wednesday June 20th, 2018 at Camelot Brookside Nursing Home in Jennings LA. She was born on June 5th, 1937 in Vicksburg, MS to Lawrence A. Lacour and Sadie Folse Lacour who preceded her in death. She graduated from Marksville High School and received her degree in Education from SLI. She taught in many locations and is beloved by many students to this day. She was in education for over 40 years and touched many lives. Her passions in life were her pets, sports and Senior Olympics. She was instrumental in starting the Unicycle Program at Judice Elementary with Coach Bill Butcher which survives to this day.
She is survived by her sisters Margaret Wagner and Retta (Norman) Porterfield both of Kenner LA, her nieces, Carrolyn (Ricky) Benoit of Jennings and Christina Williams of Baton Rouge LA, her great-nieces and nephews, Richard Benoit of Jennings, LA, Katherine (Travis) Bozeman of Walker, LA, Aray Benoit and Megan Benoit, of Jennings, LA and her Great-great nephews Camber Pickett of Jennings, LA, William and Benjamin Bozeman of Walker, LA.
A memorial service will be held on June 30th, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at St. Edmunds Church 4131 W. Congress St, Lafayette, LA. The family wishes to give special thanks to Heart of Hospice (Jade Marler), Camelot Brookside Nursing Home (for the loving care she received from them.
