Raymond Chaisson

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Raymond Chaisson, 86, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Island Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation will be Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Chaisson died Thursday, October 9, 2014 in his residence. Mr. Chaisson was a native and lifelong resident of the Jennings/Hathaway area. He had a passion for horses. His passion for horses included training and racing them. He enjoyed trail riding and camping. His afternoon “entertainment” included jumping in his vehicle to drive around the community visiting his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elta Mae Lantz Chaisson; two daughters, Carol Ann Chaisson of Iota, LA and Tina Fontenot of Hathaway; two sons Keith Chaisson of Hathaway and Burt Chaisson of Tucson, AZ; three (3) sisters, Mabel Fontenot of Jennings, Ruth Cormier of Roanoke, LA and Lois Phillips of Houston, TX; Nine (9) grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mr. Chaisson is preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Rose Allmond Chaisson; a son, David Chaisson and four (4) brothers, Joseph “Joe”, Willis, Paul, and John “June” Chaisson.
