LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Ray Allen Trahan, 61, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the St. Anne Cemetery near Elton. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. today, Tuesday and 8:00 a.m., Wednesday until time of services. A rosary led by the Catholic Daughters will be recited at 7:00 p.m., today, Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Trahan died at 9:27 a.m., Sunday, March 14, 2010 in the West Cal-Cam Hospital in Sulphur. Mr. Trahan was a native of Hayes and a resident of Vinton moving there from Lake Arthur. He worked as a laborer for the Roanoke rice drier and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War serving on the U.S.S. Ranger. He was a member of the Lake Arthur American Legion Post # 403 and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Survivors include one daughter, Angel Trahan Smith and husband Randy of Vinton; three sisters, Lois Campbell of Bell City, Bobbie Files and husband Nelson of Lake Arthur, Greta Martin and husband Roy also of Lake Arthur; two brothers, Curtis Ray Trahan of Lake Arthur and Daniel Trahan of Lake Arthur; three grandchildren, Megan Smith, Evelyn Smith King, Randy Smith; one step grandson, Travis Duhon, one great-grandchild and one step-great grandchild. Mr. Trahan was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Ray and Nedia Benoit Trahan; his wife, Rena M. Trahan; his step-son, William Manuel; a brother, John William Trahan; three sisters, Betty Abshire, Gertrude Trahan and Diane Trahan.
