Mermentau, LA
Polly Thibodeaux Hodges, a resident of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on October 20, 2021.
Polly was born in Mermentau, Louisiana on August 22, 1932, to the late Arthur and Eleanor Thibodeaux.
Polly married and for a time lived abroad and then lived in Alabama, Virginia, and Maryland before returning to Louisiana where she lived most of her life in Metairie and her second home in Mermentau.
She retired from the Jefferson Parish Department of Drainage and maintained life-long friendships with many of her colleagues.
Polly was a loving sister, wife, mother, and friend. She was kind to everyone she met and made everyone feel accepted and welcomed. She was at her happiest when surrounded by her family, cooking, and sharing good food.
She loved quilting and made beautiful quilts which she enjoyed gifting to family and friends. She was also an avid gardener who enjoyed serving her fresh fruits and vegetables. She also loved having plenty of plants, trees, and flowers in her yard and house with a special fondness for both orchids and camellias. She definitely had a green thumb as everything grew so beautifully.
