It is with great sorrow that the family of Mr. Philip Ambrose Cantrelle, 83, of Jennings, announces his passing on Friday, March 19, 2021.
Mr. Cantrelle was born on August 8, 1937 in Houma to Sidney and Adele Authement Cantrelle. He was a graduate of the 1956 class of Terrebonne High. After graduation, his career included the oil field, commercial fisherman, business owner and was the Captain of a shrimp boat, casino boat and tugboat.
He loved shrimping, cooking, hunting, watching hummingbirds, dancing, and playing different musical instruments.
Mr. Cantrelle is survived by his two daughters, Pam Cantrelle of Mobile, AL and Penny Miller of Jennings; a son, Philip Cantrelle, Jr. of Lake Arthur; a sister, Brenda Powell of Houma, and a brother, Gayden Cantrelle also of Houma; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and Elma Cantrelle Price the mother of his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Bernice Fontenot Cantrelle.
Arrangements for the cremation of Mr. Cantrelle are under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
