On Wednesday, January 27, 2021, and angel of the Lord came to free Peter Brown, Jr. from this world’s challenges.
Peter Brown, Jr. was born on May 26, 1938 to Elzenar and Peter Brown, Sr. who preceded him in death in Roanoke, Louisiana. He died at home after a lengthy illness. He was 82 years old.
A lifelong resident of Jennings, Louisiana, he was employed as a laborer by Miguez Funeral Home for 55 years. He attended Union Missionary Baptist Church. He was the proud father of six children born to him and Emma Louise Brown (who preceded him in death). He was a loving Father and provider who enjoyed spending time with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 11 years, Silvia Brown; four daughters, Paula Lockett (Keith) of Houston, TX; Debra Cezar (Larry) of Cypress, TX; Rhonda Brown of Baytown, TX; two son, David Brown of Menifee, CA and Peter Brown III of Menifee, CA; six grandchildren; Janayah Gilliam (Paula), David Brown, Jr. (David), Brice Kelly (Rhonda), Caleb and Joshua Johnson (Debra), and Jakeitrah “Emma Louise” Lockett (Paula); four great-grandchildren, Aiden Johnson, Emma Johnson, Gianna Brown, and Isabella Johnson; a brother Albert Brown of Jennings and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother of his children, Emma Louise Brown; daughter, Jacqueline Brown; four brothers, Raymond, Henry, Wesley, and Ivory Brown and two sisters, Hazel Ceasar and Leanna Stallworth.
Services for Mr. Peter Brown, Jr. will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Union Missionary Baptist Church with Minister Gorman K. Plowden and Pastor Gerald Perkins as officiants. Interment will follow in Parkview Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. when the procession to church will begin.
Carrying Mr. Brown to his place of rest are Pallbearers Raymond Brown, Jr., Joshua Johnson, Henry Brown, Jr., Larry Cezar, Tyrone Brown and David Brown, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers are David Brown, Peter Brown, III, Gorman K. Plowden and Keith Lockett.
