Funeral services for Patrick Michael Briggs, 72, will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Immaculate Conception Catholic church at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Anil Alexander officiating. A burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. It will resume Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. before departing for church.

Mike was born in Houston, TX on January 2, 1952, to David and Dorothy Davlin Briggs, Sr. He passed away on July 6, 2024, in his residence.

Mike graduated from LSU in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree. He enjoyed eating ice cream, raising cattle, cutting grass, fishing, growing trees on his Christmas tree farm, but most importantly he cherished every moment spent with his family and grandkids.

Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 33 years, Jeanette Gary Briggs; sons, Kirt and Tracy Chaisson, Danny and Patricia Chaisson, Kendall and Mindy Chaisson, Randall and Crystal Chaisson; brothers, Ronnie and Gwen Briggs, David and Carolyn Briggs, Jr.; grandchildren, Peyton and Lauren Green, Carson Chaisson, Courtney Chaisson, Colby Chaisson, Grant Chaisson, Whitney Chaisson, Madison Duhon, Nadine Chaisson and Jadan Meaux, Seth Chaisson, Caleb Chaisson, Conner Chaisson, Bailey Chaisson, Abby Chaisson, Bruce and Ashley Rentrop, Trevor and Sarah Rentrop; great grandchildren, Vivian, Noel, Alec, Christian Rosemary and Graham Green, Palmer Russell, Emeryson Chaisson, Elise, Judson, Theo and Alice Rentrop, Adrian, Aidan and Jordyn Luna; and his nieces and nephews, Nathaniel, Chelsea, Travis, and Rhett Briggs and Tyson Walker.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Bert Guidry, Jackie Guidry and Jeff Robinson for the special care they gave.
