Funeral services for Mrs. Opal L. Wiggins Foreman, 89, of Welsh, will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in Christ’s Church of Jennings, with Bro. Phil Doucet officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Mrs. Foreman passed away just two days after her eighty-ninth birthday, on November 3, 2023, surrounded by those who loved her, and is resting peacefully now in the arms of her Savior.

Visitation for Mrs. Foreman will begin on Wednesday, November 8, at 10:00 a.m. and continue until 12:45 p.m. departure for funeral service.

Mrs. Foreman was born on November 1, 1934, in Cynthiana, Kentucky to Samuel Irvin Wiggins and Iva Mae Geoghegan.  She was a graduate from Harrison County High School in Cynthiana, Kentucky. She then went on to attend college at Cincinnati Bible College. Although a native of Kentucky, Mrs. Foreman spent most of her life in the Jennings/Welsh area. She worked for South Central Bell, Bens More Mileage, Cormier’s Grocery, Fontenot’s Food Mart, Marcantel Feed Store, and Market Basket. She enjoyed the outdoors, watching the birds, as well as admiring the loveliness of her plants and flowers.  She also enjoyed shopping and raising farm animals. She was a member of The First Church of Christ where she sung in the choir and taught Bible School. She taught her children that the way of the Cross leads home.  Mrs. Foreman was a very personable lady, her love of people meant she never met a stranger, but God and her family was the most important people of all.

Mrs. Foreman leaves behind two daughters, Sarah (Jason) Esthay of Roanoke and Ginger (Steven) Brown of Hathaway; two sons, Cameron (Jody) Foreman of Lafayette, and Errol (Wanda) Foreman of Welsh; grandchildren, Christopher Brown, Kaitlyn (Tyler) Chaisson, Erica (Brandon) Leger, Errol Foreman, Jr., Tyler (Elizabeth) Foreman, Logan Esthay, Hannah Esthay; great grandchildren, Makenzie, Piper, Wren, William, Kole, Adalida, Silas and Macy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Huey Foreman; her parents; sisters, Ruby McDole, and Lorene Reynolds; brothers, Eugene, LeRoy and Martin Wiggins and great granddaughter, Gracie Faye Foreman.

Carrying her to her final place of rest will be Errol Foreman, Jr., Tyler Foreman, Christopher Brown, Logan Esthay, Tyler Chaisson, and Brandon Leger.
