Funeral services for Ms. Olive Marceau Fontenot, 76, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.

Burial will be in the Shell Beach Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Ms. Fontenot passed away at 3:56 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2017.

Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday; and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

A Cursillo Rosary will be recited in the funeral home chapel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Ms. Fontenot was a lifetime resident of the Gueydan/Jennings area and was a bookkeeper in the automotive industry. She loved reading, cooking, drinking diet coke, eating jelly beans and using her imagination for creative baking. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her two daughters, Lisa Young and husband William of Jennings, Sonya Johnson and husband Arden of Shreveport; one son, Fred Fontenot and wife Bonnie of Jennings; three granddaughters, Lauren and husband Colby Geerts, Lindsey Shirah, Kylie Fontenot; two grandsons, Tyler Shirah and Jude Fontenot, and two great-grandsons, Laison and Remy Geerts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. R. Fred and Bertha LeJeune Marceau.
