Ogden Pierre Legros

Jennings Funeral services for Mr. Ogden Pierre LeGros, 83, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2010 in the Miguez Funeral Home North Chapel with Mr. Jack Harris officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in the Gueydan Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be held Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday morning from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. LeGros died Friday, September 10, 2010 at 6:15 a.m. at his residence. He was a native of Mermentau and retired from LeeVac Shipyard as a foreman after 50 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the VFW Post 3686 and the First Church of Christ in Jennings. Mr. LeGros is survived by three sons; Douglas Ogden LeGros of Beaumont, TX., Horace Edward LeGros of Prairieville, LA., and Eric Charles LeGros of Jennings, LA., nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. The LeGros family would like to thank the St. Joseph Hospice organization in Lafayette, Ms. Hattie Reece, Ms. Juanette Belaire and Michelle Broussard of Gueydan. We like to think of them as Angels sent from Heaven to care for our Father/Grandfather during his time of need for the last four months. There are no words to describe the awesome angelic love and care for these beautiful ladies gave to make his life peaceful, organized and healthy while cooking, cleaning his home and taking charge when needed to allow him to live longer than expected. Thanks for their love of him. Our family found new wonderful friends that will never be forgotten. Mr. LeGros was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Celeste Cashat LeGros, his wife; Irene Mary LeGros, two sisters; Ethel Istre and Mary Lou France, and two brothers; Joseph LeGros and Nick LeGros. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to M. D. Anderson Cancer Research or the Cancer Research of your choice.
