JENNINGS I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith . II Timothy 4:7 Memorial services for Mrs. Norma Clark Nelson, 85, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2009 in the Jennings United Methodist Church with Rev. Josh Milliron officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m., Sunday until time of services. Mrs. Nelson died at 11:55 a.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in the Lafayette General Hospital. Mrs. Nelsons body was cremated. She was a lifelong resident of Jennings and a graduate of Jennings High School class of 1940. She received a secretarial degree from the Port Arthur Business School. Mrs. Nelson was a secretary and real estate agent for many years. She was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and she volunteered at Caring Hands. Mrs. Nelson was also a member of the Cruising Cajuns. Survivors include her three daughters, Paula Carlin and husband Charles of Sulphur, Karla Nelson of Jennings, and Debra Nelson and John Jones of Baton Rouge; one son, Rusty Nelson and wife Sandy of Lafayette; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Nelson is preceded in death by her parents, Arden and Dolly Richard Clark; her husband, Charles Franklin Nelson, Sr. and one brother, Roland A. Clark. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Caring Hands, 327 N. Main St., Jennings, 70546; The Miles Perret Cancer Services, 2130 Kaliste Saloom Road, Lafayette, 70508 or the American Cancer Society, Suite 182, 1604 West Pinhook Road, Lafayette, 70508. The family wishes to express gratitude to all her caregivers at Jennings American Legion Hospital, Lafayette General Hospital (Long Term Acute Care) and the many friends for their prayers and support.
