Nora Madeline Varney

JENNINGS Funeral home visitation for Nora (Madeline) Varney, 88, will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2008 in the Miguez Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Covina Hills, CA. Mrs. Varney died at 2:20 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2008 in the Presbyterian Hospital, Matthews, North Carolina. Mrs. Varney was a native of Brooklyn, New York and a resident of Jennings four years moving here from California. Mrs. Varney was a loving person who always had a smile on her face and was known to many people as Mom . She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society. Mrs. Varney is survived by her husband of 64 years, Mr. John Varney of Jennings; three daughters, Marie Bonar and husband Don of Upland, CA, Geri Hughes and husband Doug of Upland, CA, and Carol Ann Shaub of Ontario, CA; four sons, Bob Varney of Upland, CA, Joe Varney of Jennings, LA, Jim Varney and wife Annette of Upland, CA, Chuck Varney and his life companion John Rossiter of Waxhaw, N.C., 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
