Funeral services for Mr. Nelvin Paul Leckelt, Sr. will be held Monday, July 25, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Funeral home visitation will be Monday, July 25, from 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Leckelt, 89, died July 22, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Leckelt lived in the Jennings and Evangeline communities all of his life. He enjoyed being outdoors and he was very proud of his children and especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Leckelt is survived by his five daughters, Connie (George)Trumps of Maxie; Glenda (David)Lamkin of Evangeline; Betty (Gerald)Cox of Evangeline; Elaine (David)LaBouve of Jennings; Donna Leckelt Daigle of Evangeline and one son, Michael Leckelt of Hardy, Arkansas; one brother Melvin (Nell) Leckelt of Jennings; twenty six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents Peter Paul “Jack” Leckelt and Alice Lasage; sons, Nelvin Paul Leckelt; Wayne Leckelt; William Burton Leckelt; his sisters Annie Cabra and Lorice Cormier and his brothers, Herman Leckelt; Elson Leckelt; Dewey Leckelt and Richard Leckelt and one grandaughter, Stacy Trumps.
