Nelle Ruth Roberts

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Nelle Ensminger Roberts, 94, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 16, 2010 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Masters officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., today, Thursday; and at the church from 8:30 a.m., Friday until time of services. Mrs. Roberts died at 11:35 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in the Jeff Davis Living Center. Mrs. Roberts was a resident of Jennings 59 years moving here from Marion, IL in 1951. She was a graduate of the Marion Township High School and Browns Business School in Marion, IL. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Jennings where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the Republican Womens Club, Jennings American Legion Hospital Auxiliary and was a volunteer for the Jeff Davis Parish Tourist Bureau. Mrs. Roberts is survived by two daughters, Linda Patterson and husband Wayne of Jennings and Diane Bartelme and husband Joe of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Iva Bullock Ensminger; her husband, Paul R. Roberts and two sisters, Alice Pulley and Sybil Smothers. Pallbearers will be Michael W. Patterson, R. Mark Patterson, Brian Wells, John Cline, Daniel Persaud and Timothy Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be six of her great grandchildren, Kyle and Samantha Patterson, Emily and Sarah Patterson and Katie and Kassidy McSweeney.
