Nelda Louise Roe

Jennings Funeral services for Mrs. Nelda Louise Hester Roe, 94, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday December 17, 2009 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Masters officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 and at the First Baptist Church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Roe died at 10:00 p.m. Sunday evening December 13, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Roe was born December 20, 1914 in Woden, TX. She was a resident of Jennings for 55 years having moved here from Baton Rouge. She was a graduate of Bluff Creek High School Class of 1932. Mrs. Roe was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church, Entre Nous Club, Pink Ladies Auxiliary and Ruth Sunday School Class. Mrs. Roe enjoyed playing bridge. She is survived by her son, Richard R. Roe, Jr. and wife Shirley of Jennings; a niece, Dorothea Trotter of Bouerne, TX.; and six grandchildren; Richard R. Roe, III and wife Jackie; Tessie Roe Fischer and husband John; Laurie Roe Guinn and husband James; Molly Roe Thibodeaux and husband Gordon; Noel Roe and Shelly Roe; 16 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and family friend of many years Barbara Mathews. Mrs. Roe was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel Jefferson and Annie Wilburn Hester and her husband, Richard R. Roe, Sr.
