Nancy Horne Beazer was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She was a beautiful soul who to all she knew.
She graduated Valedictorian of her 1969 graduating class of Jennings High School. She also was magna cum laude of her McNeese class. She was, also, a beautiful and skilled ballerina.
She loved learning and that shined through in her life’s work of teaching. She loved her students and made a brilliant impact on all she taught. As a librarian she brought the gift of reading to so many. Nancy made learning a magical experience for her students. She will always be remembered fondly by the children she taught.
She married her first love and soulmate. They lived in her hometown of Jennings, LA. She was a dedicated and loving wife of fifty-one years.
In her time Nancy enjoyed playing piano, mostly old hymns. She grew beautiful roses, some of which were passed down through generations of family and walked amongst them daily taking great joy in each new bloom. She felt closest to God in nature and helping to make things grow. She always loved a good book especially mysteries and reading to the children in her family. There will never be anyone who can bring a book to life like she did. She started each day with inspirational and scriptural reading. Her faith was unfaltering. Most of all she loved her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
She lost her final battle with her seventh cancer within 17 years on Saturday December 5, 2021. She was home in the arms of her loving husband John.
She was welcomed home by her Parents Florence Peters Horne and Earl Wilson Horne, Sr. Her in-laws Theresa Lafleur Beazer and Sam Beazer. Also, several aunts, uncles, and her grandparents whom she missed dearly.
She is survived by her husband John C Beazer of Jennings, LA. Her two daughters Elizabeth Beazer McGuire of Little Rock, Arkansas and Charlotte Beazer Mathis (Joey) of Lafayette, Louisiana. Her four grandchildren Gavin, Gwyneth, Alec Beazer-Ardoin and Felicity Mathis. Her Sister Elizabeth Horne Marten of Cincinnati Ohio and Her Brother Earl W Horne, Jr. of Houston, Texas. Many nieces and nephews and extended family, whom she loved dearly.
Mrs. Beazer passed away on December 4, 2021, in her residence with her beloved husband. The family is honoring her wishes to be cremated. A visitation and memorial service will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 3-5pm at Miguez Funeral Home.
