Mrs. O.B. (Beulah Rutherford) Broussard

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mrs. O.B. (Beulah Rutherford) Broussard, 89, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 17, 2009, in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery under direction of the Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral Home visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. Friday; and 8:00 A.M., Saturday until time of services. Mrs. Broussard died at 3:05 A.M., Monday, October 12, 2009 at her daughters residence in Lafayette. Mrs. Broussard was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur. She was a graduate of Lake Arthur High School, class of 1936, a member of First United Methodist Church, Lake Arthur, the Missionary Society, the UMW, Buchanan Circle and the Lake Arthur Library Club. She was very kind and gentle person with an open home. She was a loving mother and wife and was loved by nieces and nephews. Mrs. Broussard was most definitely a Lady in every concept of the word. Mrs. Broussard was survived by two daughters, Cathy LaCour and husband Jules of Lafayette and Tania Tupper and husband Bill of Bell City; one son, Juan Broussard of Lake Arthur; one sister, Ruth Rutherford Bertrand of Beaumont, Texas; six grandchildren, Jake LaCour and wife Darla of Lafayette, Ben Tupper of Lake Arthur, Jennifer Williams and husband Travis of Brazoria, TX, Brady Broussard and wife Lorilee of Lake Arthur, Brandon Broussard and wife Dakota of Sulphur, and Bethany Broussard of Jennings; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her parents Ralph Hugh and Ava Richard Rutherford; husband, O.B. Broussard; one daughter, Linda Ruth Broussard; one sister, Ruby Rutherford Hymel; and one brother, John E. Rutherford. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jake LaCour, Ben Tupper, Brady Broussard, Brandon Broussard, Travis Williams, and great grandson, Colby LaCour. Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer Tupper Williams and Bethany Broussard.
