Morris Lacombe

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Morris Lacombe, 82, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 12, 2010 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Broussard officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. today, Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., today, Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Lacombe died at 6:24 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at his residence in Egan. Mr. Lacombe was a native of Evangeline and a resident of Egan 79 years. He was a graduate of Iota High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Egan Knights of Columbus. Mr. Lacombe was a retired surveyor for a rice irrigation company. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Melba Lee Miller Lacombe of Egan, four sons, Craighton Lacombe and wife Cookie (Hebert) of Evangeline, Preston Lacombe and wife Charlene (Guidry) of Iota, Quentin Lacombe and wife Debra (LeJeune) of Iota, and Van Lacombe and wife, Polly (Briscoe) of Egan; two sisters, Joyce Crochet of Gotts Cove, Durelia Doucet of Tioga; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mr. Lacombe was preceded in death by his parents, Cyprien and Julia Cormier Lacombe, one brother, Horace Lacombe and two great grandchildren, Hannah and Hailey Hebert. Pallbearers will be Travis Lacombe, Jason Lacombe, Mitchell Fontenot, Ryan Miller, Garrett Judice and Kevin Cormier.
