LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Milton Adam O’Blanc, Sr., 76, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Entombment will be in the St. Anthony Mausoleum under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Friday; and 8:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. O’Blanc died at 5:55 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in the Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles. He was a native of Lake Arthur and lived in Lake Charles for 25 plus years. He worked in the plants, and in the last several years did handyman jobs for many people in his neighborhood and around town. He charged them very little or nothing for his services. He served in the U.S. Army then upon discharge he remained in the Army Reserve for six years, and then became a Lake Arthur police officer. He trained and graduated from Texas A & M and received a professional polygraph examiner license, working this job for several years both in Louisiana and Texas. He retired from Law Enforcement as a private investigator. He enjoyed playing cards, listening and dancing to Cajun music, playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; fishing, boating, golfing, hosting and attending barbecues and crawfish boils with family and friends. Survivors include one brother, Alton O’Blanc and wife Gloria; nine children, Milton O’Blanc, Jr. and wife Renee, Patricia Bertrand, Timothy O’Blanc and wife Mona, Pamela O’Blanc and husband William, Jed O’Blanc and wife Brenda, Paula Roy and husband Scott, Kim Nichols and husband Alan, Glenn Doucet, Jr. David Doucet and wife Yadi, and his beloved pet Sammy; nineteen grandchildren, Tiffany, Dustin, Chad, Holly, Jude, Stefan, Dane, Jada, Crystal, Alex, Gordan, Mason, Alison, Aaron, Emily, Tyler, Sydney, Blake, and Elizabeth; five great-grandchildren, Bradley, Spencer, Emersyn, Emalyn and Olivia; four nieces and nephews, Brian, Cathy, Angela and Kevin. Mr. O’Blanc was preceded in death by his parents, Aldest and Orelia O’Blanc and his wife, Elaine O’Blanc. Pallbearers will be Dustin, Chad, Jude, Stefan, Dane, Alex, Gordan, Mason, Aaron, Tyler and Philip. Words of comfort may be expressed to the family at www.miguezfuneralhome.com.
