Funeral services for Mr. Michael S. Fontenot, 65, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur with Rev. Jay Alexius officiating.

Visitation will be observed Saturday, September 24 in the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:p.m. Visitation will resume Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Burial with Full Military Honors will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Mr. Fontenot died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 in Lake Arthur.

Mr. Fontenot was a lifelong resident of the Klondike/Lake Arthur area. He was a 1969 graduate of Jennings High School and a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Fontenot; his children, Chyla Whitman and husband Daryl of Lake Arthur and Joshua Michael Fontenot of Lake Charles; sisters Wanda (Rodney) Bergeaux of Jennings; Anna (Jim) Comeaux of Iota; Bonnie (Smokey) Boudreaux of Iota; Nora (Bob) Delp of Lampasas, TX and sister in law Anna Marie Fontenot of Welsh, La; his brother Jerry (Carline) Fontenot of Evangeline and brother-in-law Jude Burton of Evangeline; six grandchildren, Maridith and Logan Hendrickson, Nicholas Trahan, Trevin, Regan and Aiden Whitman and one great grandchild, Willow Jolie Hendrickson.

Mr. Fontenot is preceded in death by his parents Shelby and Stella Roberie Fontenot; one sister, Barbara Burton and two brothers Robert and Donnie Fontenot.
