Michael Looney, Sr.

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Michael P. Looney Sr., 71, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Thibodeaux officiating. Burial with Military Graveside Honors will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. Mr. Looney died at 3:13 a.m., Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his residence in Jennings. Mr. Looney was a native of New Orleans and a 35 year resident of Jennings. He was a retired oilfield roughneck. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He is survived by his wife, Eltry Looney of Jennings; one daughter, Sandy Looney of Kaplan; two sons, Michael Looney, Jr. of Kinder, Phillip Looney of Jennings; 11 grandchildren, Lori Mott, Ethan Looney, Travis Shanley, Tyler Shanley, Chelsay Mott, Sara Mott, Jay Seagraves, Heather Seagraves, Sierra Gray, Brittany Carson, Jasmine Seagraves; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Looney is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hilda Tournette Looney; and one daughter, Debra Shanley.
