Mr. Michael John Sonnier of Lafayette passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 in Lafayette General Medical Center.

Mr. Sonnier was born in Welsh, Louisiana on January 12, 1951 to the late Bertrand and Elise Guidry Sonnier. He is survived by one brother, Richard (Sherrion) Sonnier of Welsh, Louisiana.

Mr. Sonnier was preceded in death by his parents, Bertrand and Elise Guidry Sonnier and two brothers Herbert Sonnier and Edward Sonnier.

Mr. Sonnier loved taking care of people and being surrounded by his family and friends. His love of people was evident in his work as a nurse at Lafayette General Medical Center, where he worked for nearly 40 years.

A memorial service honoring the life of Michael Sonnier will be announced at a later date.
