JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Michael Dale Parsley, Sr., 45, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Ted Broussard officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Church Cemetery in Evangeline under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., today, Friday; and 8:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., today, Friday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Parsley died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Parsley was a native of Fairbanks, Alaska. He was a riverboat engineer who also worked as a volunteer fireman in Evangeline and Roanoke and auxiliary policeman in the town of Welsh. He enjoyed fishing, barbequing, and wood working. Survivors include one daughter, Nicole Cormier and husband Joshua of Hathaway; two sons, Michael Parsley, Jr. of Welsh, Andrew Lee Parsley of Roanoke; mother, Mona Benoit Trahan of Evangeline; grandmother, Lois McFarlain of Evangeline; two sisters, Rhonda Gail Burger and husband Steve. Sharlene Ann Istre and husband Clifford of Evangeline; two brothers, Arthur James Parsley, Jr. and wife Jody, Danny Paul Parsley both of Evangeline; two grandchildren, Hali Marie Parsley and Xiera Fay Cormier and companion Tina Peterson. Mr. Parsley was preceded in death by his father, Arthur James Parsley, Sr. and grandfathers, Henry Parsley and Leo Francis Benoit, Sr.; grandmother, Alamonde Parsley; sister, Darla Ann Parsley and niece, Hillary Parsley.
