Melvin Paul Clay, Sr.

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Melvin Paul Clay, Sr., 85, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Clay died at 12:10 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2011 in the Extended Care of Southwest Louisiana, Lake Charles. Mr. Clay was a two year resident of Lake Charles moving there from Evangeline where he lived 21 years. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Clay was a crop duster, beekeeper, and had numerous positions in the oil and gas industry, retiring as an oilfield consultant. On December 31, 1987 Mr. Clay married the love of his life, Mrs. Yvonne Rogers Clay. Mr. Clay is survived by his wife, Mrs. Yvonne Rogers Clay; three sons, Ronald David Clay of North Carolina, Melvin Paul Clay, Jr. and Darrin Clay both of Evangeline and nine grandchildren.
