Melissa A. Guthrie

Funeral services for Mrs. Melissa Ann Guthrie, 57, of Jennings, will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Miguez Funeral Home with Bro. Austin Spell officiating.  In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation will follow under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mrs. Guthrie will begin on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the 2:00 p.m. service time.

Mrs. Guthrie passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 21, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Guthrie was born on October 27, 1964, to John Murphy and Loretta Prather Leger of Hayes.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, George; daughters, Ericka Guthrie, and Jessica Guthrie of Jennings; her parents; sister, Tara Leger of Hayes; brothers, Shannon Leger of Spring, TX and Murphy Leger, Jr. of Lake Charles; sons-in-law, Damien Williams, and Joseph Thibodeaux; brother-in-law, Curtis McMullen of Spring, TX; sister-in-law, Ursula Leger; and three grandchildren, Erin Landry, Blake Landry, and Khole Thibodeaux.
