Funeral services for Mrs. Melanie Vidrine Lantz Wiles, 85 of Jennings will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in conjunction with her son’s service, Mr. Marvin Lantz with Rev. Keith Pellerin officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Augustine Mausoleum in Basile under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mrs. Wiles and Mr. Lantz will begin on Saturday, August 28, the 2021 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel at 8:30 a.m. and continue until 10:30 a.m.

Mrs. Wiles was born on January 30, 1936, in Basile, Louisiana to Sady and Eva Marcantel Vidrine.  She passed away on August 19, 2021, peacefully at her home.

She enjoyed taking care of the elderly and spent many hours as a caregiver.  She loved to iron and sew.  Mrs. Wiles also enjoyed attending church, watching soap operas, and tending to her plants.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are two daughters, Imelda Savoy of Lafayette, and Phyllis Trahan of Jennings; son, Marvin Lantz of Crowley; and seven grandchildren, Tabitha (Jason) Stewart, Daphne (Willard ll) Landry, Timothy (Jen) Savoy, Courtney and Heather Savoy, Dylan Trahan, and Chrystal Lantz; 11 great grandchildren, Sidney, Aiden and Riley Stewart, Crystal, Kelsey and Caleb Savoy, Gabby and Elicia Lopez, Richard Fuselier, Jr. Avery, Parker and Peyton Landry.

She was preceded in death by her husband Orville Wiles; her parents; sister, Priscilla Rogers and brother, Jimmy Vidrine.
