Mavis Ann Cormier

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Burley (Mavis Ann Roberie) Cormier, 62, will be held at 2:00 p.m., today, Friday, May 21, 2010 in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Ted Freeland officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Funeral home visitation was from 4:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. today, Friday until time of services. Mrs. Cormier died at 6:15 a.m., Thursday, May 20, 2010 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mrs. Cormier was a native of Pine Prairie and a resident of Jennings 35 years. She was a graduate of the Jennings High School and attended McNeese. She loved to bake, crochet and travel. Mrs. Cormier was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Burley Cormier of Jennings; one son, James K. Benoit and wife, Crystal of Jennings; her mother, Eudna Roberie of Jennings; two brothers, Leo Roberie, Jr. and wife Linda of Lake Arthur and Ray Roberie of Lafayette; five grandchildren, one great grandchild and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Roberie, Sr. and two sons, David Benoit and Preston Benoit, Jr.
