Matthew Vallette

Matthew Carlton Vallette, 66, of Carlyss passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020. 

Matt was a lifelong Carlyss resident. He retired from Cameron Telephone Company after 30 plus years of service. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  Matt loved to cook, and his family loved his delicious meals, especially his fried shrimp.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Della Abshire Vallette; three children, Mandy Trahan and husband Kaleb, Dee Vallette, and Marvin Vallette and his wife Diana all of Carlyss; brothers, Stevie Vallette and his wife Ann of Carlyss, and Ricky Vallette and his wife Roxana of Sulphur; eight grandchildren, Elaina, Maebree, Dane, Juliet, Darbee, Maria, Victoria and Kambree.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Arlene “Pookie” Vallette.

Funeral services will be 1pm, Monday, December 28, 2020 in First Baptist Church of Carlyss at 5009 Hwy 27 South. Burial will follow in Hackberry Community Cemetery in Hackberry, LA.  Visitation will be held 10 am – 1pm on Monday, December 28, 2020 in First Baptist Church of Carlyss.  

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Volunteers of America.
