Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Searcy, 88, lately of Jennings, will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 10:15 a.m., in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel with Deacon Wayne Chapman officiating.  Burial will be in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. and continue until service time at 10:15 a.m.

 Mrs. Searcy was born in Solon Springs, WI on October 8, 1933, to Victor and Ethel Gagnon Patterson.  She graduated from Cathedral High School in Superior, Wisconsin.  Mrs. Searcy served her country honorably as a Marine from 1951 to 1952 as a CPL E-3.  Following her service to her country, she was a housewife and mother.  In 1972, she moved from North Dakota to Bastrop, LA.  She married her loving husband, Willie, in 1952 and traveled a lot with him while he served in the Air Force. They were married 65 years until his passing. She was a member of the VFW Post 1736; AMVEST Post 7; and American Legion Post 3 Ladies Axillary. Mrs. Searcy also attended Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church.

Those left behind to cherish her beloved memory are her daughter, Caroline Collins of Spring Hill, FL; her son, D.C.(Cindy) Searcy of Pineville; sisters, Annette Schneider of CO, and Cynthia Thielig of WI; grandson, Chad (Cheryl) Collins; two great grandchildren, Jayden and Landon Collins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents; two sons, Wayne, and Kerry Searcy; and one sister, Patricia Finstead of WI.
