Mary "Marie" Derk

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Mary (Marie) Duhon Derk, 91, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Brother Doug Broyles officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. today Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m. until time of services Wednesday. Mrs. Derk died at 9:10 a.m., Sunday, September 18, 2011 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. A native of Cameron Parish, Mrs. Derk lived in the Jennings/Lake Arthur area for over 70 years. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery and bingo. Mrs. Derk is survived by three daughters, Loyce Kebodeaux and husband PeeWee of Andrus Cove, Glory Suire and husband Lee of Lake Arthur, Mary Lou Ellenberger and husband Brad of Ponchatoula; one son, Woody Dirks and wife Sue of Jennings; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Firman Duhon, Sr. and Helena LaCombe Duhon, husband, Johnny Derk, two daughters, Azelina Courville and Mary Jane Derk, two sons, Fred and George Derk, four sisters, Emelia Duhon, Odelia Suire, Azelia Domingue and Velma Henry, five brothers, John, James, Maurice, George and Firman Duhon, Jr. Pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
