JENNINGS Funeral services for Mary Landry Simon will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2008 in the Union Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Perkins officiating. Burial will be in the Parkview Cemetery under direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church. Mrs. Simon died at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 17, 2008 at her residence. Mary Landry Simon was born in Jennings, Louisiana on November 13, 1921. She was the sixth baby born to Albert and Harriet Hattie Landry. Mary celebrated her 87th birthday last week with her UBC Seasoned Saints group. She married Howard Seeley, of that union one daughter was born, Mary Louise. Later Mary married Clarence Shump-T Simon. She was active member of Union Baptist Church. She loved her pastor Rev. Gerald Perkins, Sr., who was her cousin. Mary was determined she would enjoy life Her Way . She would stop and kiss anyone, especially small children. Mary leaves her daughter, Mary Louise Seeley Jenkins, son-in-law Willard Jenkins, Sr., grandsons Jamal Albert Jenkins of Sacramento, CA, Loren Jenkins, granddaughter-in-law Kara Jenkins, great grandsons Tristin Loren and Brendon Alexander Jenkins of Elk Grove, CA.; one sister Shirley Mae Landry Fuselier of Hollywood, FL. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, adopted extended families and friends. She is in the arms of the Lord with parents Albert Landry Sr. and Harriett Hattie Perkins Landry, brothers and sisters Albert Landry, Jr., Roaseanna Landry Marks Woodfork, Georganna Landry Young Murphy, Gilbert Landry, Terrance Landry, Sr., Sallie Landry, Vera Landry Gordon Thomas, beloved grandson Willard Jenkins, Jr.
