Mary Alice Eastman

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur (Mary Alice Soirez) Eastman, 83, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. T.L. Herlong and Rev. Anthony Fontenot officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. today, Tuesday; and 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until time of services. A rosary led by Mrs. Betty LeGros and Geraldine Landry will be recited at 7:00 P.M. today, Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Eastman died at 7:45 A.M. Monday, November 16, 2009 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mrs. Eastman was a lifelong resident of Jennings, after graduating from Erath High School. She also graduated from cosmetology school. She was a beautician before dedicating her life to her husband of 62 years, her family and the family farm. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society. Mrs. Eastman was also a member of Bon Ami Camping Club of Lake Charles. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Arthur W. Eastman of Jennings; two daughters, Charleen and Danny Doucet of Hathaway, Elaine and Harry LeBlanc, Jr. of Ponchatoula, LA; two sons Bradley and Judy Eastman of Jennings and Steve and Yvonne Eastman of Jennings; one brother, Dr. Resley Soirez of Middle Island, N.Y.; seven granddaughters, Christine and Donnie Venable, Naomi and David Jackson, Hannah Eastman, Alana Eastman, Danielle and Wayne Bertrand, Sadie Eastman and Sophie Eastman; four grandsons, Randall and Nicole Doucet, Josiah Eastman, Samuel Eastman and Marc LeBlanc; four great grandchildren, Seth Jackson, Emma Venable, Mary-Grace Bertrand and Brooke Venable. Preceded in death by parents, Adlar and Blanche Suire Soirez; two sisters, Valerie Trahan and Velta Marxen; one brother, Lawless Soirez.
