Martin Wardell Holloway

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Martin Wardell Holloway, 79, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2009 in the Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur with Deacon Scott Conner officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. Saturday until time of services. Mr. Holloway died at 4:30 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2009 in the Grand Cove Nursing Home, Lake Charles. Mr. Holloway was a native of Lake Arthur and worked in materials management at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, retiring after 45 years of service. He was dedicated to servicing the needs of others as a member of the Knights of Columbus and as a longtime caregiver for his mother. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and cooking. Later in life his pursuits were more restricted by his immobility, however he still enjoyed the company of others by taking part in dominos, bingo and other activities with fellow nursing home residents. He touched many lives and will be missed. Mr. Holloway is survived by one daughter, Ann Holloway of Lake Charles and one granddaughter, Ashley Barrios also of Lake Charles, currently serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
