Funeral services for Mr. Martin “MJ” Martin, 77, of Jennings will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019 immediately following the 6:00 p.m. Rosary, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur with Father Corey Campeaux officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Martin will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 18 and will continue until 8:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. with funeral services immediately following.

Mr. Martin was a retired welder who lived his entire life in this community. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, gardening, and working, especially if it meant he was lending someone a hand.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Yvonne Martin; his parents, Ben and Maria Martin; two sisters, Mary Guidry and Martha LeGros; a brother, Ben Martin, Jr. and grandson, Daniel Stewart.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters, Joetta (Rayln) Trahan of Hathaway and Kristine (Roger) Kratzer of Mermentau; two sons, Michael Martin and Marty (Monika) Martin both of Lake Arthur; two brothers, Donnie Martin of Crowley and Wilfred Martin of Gueydan; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family would like to send special thanks to LAMM Hospice Service and the Gueydan Memorial Guest House for the exceptional care and support given.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
