Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Whiddon Brooks will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Brian Wells officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Funeral home visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.

Mrs. Brooks died at 9:20 a.m., Monday, May 30, 2016 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

Mrs. Brooks was a lifelong resident of the Evangeline/Jennings area. She was an Iota High School graduate and a retired hairdresser. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jennings.

Survivors include one sister, Dolores Whiddon Slayer of Lake Charles and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brooks is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Hilda Leckelt Whiddon; her husband, Thomas Hodge Brooks; three sisters and three brothers.

The family of Mrs. Brooks’ would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers who gave her such exceptional care.
