Marlene Courville

JENNINGS 

Jesus came for Marlene Carnahan Courville, 81, on February 22, 2016, at her home in Roanoke surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held at Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh with Rev. Allan Trouille officiating.

She was a prayer warrior and lived a life of Christian example. She was a stay at home mom for many years and later worked as an Administrative Assistant for Holston in Jennings. In retirement she was an avid sports fan, enjoyed traveling, and loved spending the summer months at their cabin in Lake George, Colorado, fondly referred to as “Aspen Bayou”.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 63 years, Robert Earl Courville, her five daughters, and their husbands: Corda and Cleaton Leger, Karen and Gary Boudreaux, Jody Touchet and Byron Champagne, Dana and Greg Young, and Christy and Donald Pickle, as well as her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her brother, Ned Carnahan, her sister, Lollie (Don) Klein, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, George and Grace Bond Carnahan.

The family would like to thank Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in memory of Marlene to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
