JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Markham Ray Trahan, Sr., 72, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2010 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Mark Trahan, Jr., minister officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday; and 8:00 a.m., Saturday until time of services. Mr. Trahan died at 6:45 a.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in Magnolia Estate in Lafayette. Mr. Trahan was a native of Jennings and was a graduate of the Jennings High School. He attended SLI, now UL Lafayette for two years. He was a retired production superintendent in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Trahan was a founding director of Louisiana Oilmen’s Bass Invitational, an orgization that has donated over $1 million to St. Jude Hospital over the past 16 years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Survivors include one daughter, Robin Renee Benoit of Youngsville; three sons, Mark Trahan, Jr. and wife Susan of Allen, Texas, Michael Trahan and wife Chanda of Lafayette, Christopher Trahan of Lake Charles; two sisters, Dean Primeaux and husband Rodney of Kaplan, Rebecca Trahan of Erath; one brother Jack Trahan and wife Dell of Lafayette; and ten grandchildren.
