A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Marjorie Breaux Bellard, 88, of Lake Arthur will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Jay Alexius officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mrs. Bellard will begin on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. in the Lake Arthur Chapel and close at 8:00 p.m.  A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday led by the Catholic Daughters.

Mrs. Bellard was born on May 1, 1935, in Egan to Ferman and Armine Latiolais Breaux.  She attended Egan High School.  She worked many years as a clerk at Meyer Pharmacy for many years.  Mrs. Bellard was a faithful and devoted Catholic and served as a eucharistic minister and visited homebound members of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.  She was a member of the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters.  In 2006 she was honored as Catholic Mother of the Year and in 2008 as Catholic Daughter of the Year.  Mrs. Bellard enjoyed baking, especially her Rice Krispie treats and Cajun Cake.  She loved her family and often prayed her rosary throughout the day.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sue (Kenny) Chapman of Lake Arthur; four sons, Daniel (Arline) Bellard, David (Polly) Bellard, Lawrence (Sandra) Bellard, all of Lake Arthur and Matthew (Lenora) Bellard of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Ethel Broussard of Rayne, Leora Boullion of Dayton, TX; sister-in-law, Charlene Breaux of Bell City; one brother, Claude Breaux of Egan; thirteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Franklin Bellard; sister, Doris Meche and a brother, Alvin Breaux; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lawrence, and Zula Bellard.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to LAMM Hospice and also everyone at Jeff Davis Living Center for the wonderful and loving care given to Margie.
