Marius Camel

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Marius Camel, 89, will be held at 10:00 a.m., today, Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation was from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m.; and 8:00 a.m., today, Tuesday until time of services. Mr. Camel died at 11:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010 in the Jeff Davis Living Center. Mr. Camel was a native of Bristol, LA and a lifelong resident of Jennings. He was a retired gauger for the Superior Oil Company. Mr. Camel enjoyed camping, traveling, hunting and fishing. Survivors include one daughter, Merella LaFleur and husband Harry of Jennings; one son, Jimmie Camel and wife Judy of Lafayette; one brother, Dallas Camel and wife, Natilda of Jennings; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mr. Camel is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Edorise Richard Camel; his wife, Ida Martinez Camel and one brother, Lindsey Camel. Pallbearers will be Dallas Camel, Tony LaFleur, Chad LaFleur, Jack Camel, Maurice Camel and Eddie Simon. Honorary pallbearers will be Blaine Camel and Alvin LeMaire.
