Memorial services for Miss Marilyn Sawyer, 66, of Jennings will be held in the Miguez Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 2, 2017 with Rev. Walter Parker officiating.

Miss Sawyer’s body was cremated under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Funeral home visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. Thursday until time of services.

Miss Sawyer died at 12:30 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2017 at her residence.

Miss Sawyer was a lifelong resident of Jennings and a high school graduate. She retired as a receptionist from Louisiana Child Protection service. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She also loved to ride in her car and do cross stitching.

She is survived by one sister, Helen (Dale) Fontenot of Jennings; sister-in-law Betsy Sawyer of Vidalia; nieces and nephews, Benjamin Fontenot of Austin, TX; Brittney Roy of Jennings, Morganne Fontenot of New Orleans, Karsen Fontenot of Jennings, Makenzie Roy of Jennings, Becky (Manson) Adams and Cate Fontenot of Jennings, Michael (Christy) Sawyer, Davin Sawyer, Tucker Sawyer of Denham Springs, David (Crystal) Sawyer and Myah Sawyer of Prairieville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Maxine Boone Sawyer; and brother, Glen A. Sawyer.
