JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Racca Morrish, 88, will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, February 19, 2011 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Freeland Officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, Feb. 18, 2011 and from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services. Mrs. Morrish died at 9:56 PM Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 at her sons residence in Mandeville. Mrs. Morrish was a native of Jennings, and 30 year resident of Alexandria. She and her husband moved back to Jennings after their retirement. She was a member of Jennings United Methodist Church. She was past president of the United Methodist Women in Alexandria and Jennings. She was a lay leader and certified lay speaker. She was also President of Church Women United of CenLa Pride, Mended Hearts and member of Reach to Recovery. She retired as Secretary Treasurer at Trinity UMC of Alexandria, after 20 years of service. Mrs. Morrish was very active in the Garden Club of Jennings and the Republican Women and Entre Nous. Her hobbies included reading; bird watching, enjoying her grandchildren and watching them grow. Survivors include two sons, Kelly Marcel Morrish and wife Nanci of Mandeville, Jack Randall Morrish and wife Barbara of Shelburne, VT; and 4 grandchildren, Ashley Racca Morrish, Timothy Randall Morrish, Austin Ray Morrish, and Jessica Ann Morrish. Mrs. Morrish was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Bill Morrish; and parents, Marcel and Donatile Monceaux Racca.
