Margaret Ann Schlesinger, born March 13, 1942, passed peacefully from this earth during the morning hours of June 24, 2019 at Camelot Brookside in Jennings, LA.   Margaret Ann was affectionately known as “Nanny” to two generations of children in the family and they loved her dearly.  She resided in Elton, LA for most of her life and was a member of the Elton United Methodist Church.

Margaret Ann is survived by her sister, Betty Hetzel (William), two nieces, Martha Robertson (Mike) and Mary Pollard, and two nephews, Glen (Mindy) and James Hetzel.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Dora Bruchhaus Schlesinger, as well as one niece, Terri Hetzel Nugent.

More than anything else, Margaret Ann loved babies….and they loved her back!  She also loved puzzles and bingo.  Some of the happiest years of her life were the 12 years she resided at Southwind Assisted Living in Crowley and the last year at Camelot Brookside in Jennings.    The family wishes to thank the staff at each of these facilities for the love and care they showed Margaret Ann while she was in residence.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, LA.    Visitation will be Friday, June 28 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM with funeral services to follow at 1:00 PM, also at Miguez Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elton United Methodist Church in Elton, LA.
