Marcelle Odette Guthrie

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Marcelle Bopies Guthrie, 81, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2010 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Rev. Austin Spell officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. today, Wednesday and 8:00 a.m., Thursday until time of services. Mrs. Guthrie died at 1:20 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at her sons house in Jennings. Mrs. Guthrie was a native of Buritz, France and a resident of Jennings since 1946. She was a homemaker and a member of Victory Gospel Lighthouse. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Tracy and husband Darrell of Jennings; four sons, Terry Guthrie and wife Sheila of Jennings, Glenn Guthrie and wife Priscilla of Jennings, George Guthrie and wife Melissa of Jennings, Johnnie Guthrie and wife June of Franklin, one brother, Eve Bopies of France; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews and her little Chihuahua Peeschu. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Albertine Galgarcon Bopies; husband, John Cato Guthrie and one son, Roy Guthrie. Pallbearers will be Zachary, Josh, Jason Guthrie, Frank, Josh and Jacob Tracy.
