Funeral services for Mrs. Mable Marcantel Fontenot, 83, will be held at 2:00 p.m. , Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Austin Spell officiating.

Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p. m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday; and from 8:00 a. m. until time of services on Saturday.

Burial will be in Bertrand Cemetery.

A rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Mike Tramel.

Mrs. Fontenot died Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Jennings American Legion Hospital in Jennings, LA.

Mrs. Fontenot was born May 23, 1932 in Mamou, LA. Mrs. Fontenot and her husband George were married for 66 years. She loved to cook and was known as an awesome cook. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much and was a big fan of Loretta Lynn as well as Gospel and French music.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, George Fontenot of Jennings; one daughter, Barbara (Keith)Fontenot Granger of Jennings; four sons, Larry (Barbie) Fontenot of Ragley; Terry (Cathy) Fontenot of Jennings; Mark Fontenot of Roanoke, Kenneth Fontenot of Gillis; and three sisters, Allevean Guillotte of Lake Charles; Amanda Marcantel of Mamou; and Delores Fontenot of Orange, TX. She also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Mrs. Fontenot was preceded in death by her parents Elias Marcantel and Gladys Reed Marcantel; two sisters, Masie Bertrand and Beulah Marcantel; one brother Aubrey Marcantel and her beloved son, Allen George Fontenot, Jr.
