Jennings Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Louise Weldon Reed , 73 will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jack Harris officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings, Visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and continue Saturday from 8 am until the time of service. Mrs. Reed died Thursday April 4, 2013 at 5:35 pm in the Jeff Davis Living Center in Jennings. Mrs. Reed was a native of Shreveport and lifelong resident of the Hathaway/Jennings area. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of Christ. Mrs. Reed loved working in her yard, fishing, hunting and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband; Arba Lewis Reed, Jr., five sons; James (Arlene) Weldon of Merrillville, IN, Kirk (Harriet) Weldon of Hathaway, LA, Joe (Emelia) Weldon of Lafayette, LA, Arba (Valerie) Reed of Jennings, LA and Keith (Leslie) Reed of Cincinnati, OH, four brothers; R. L. Ritter of Dallas TX, Douglas Ritter of Burr Ferry, LA, Jerry (Fran) Ritter of Burr Ferry, LA and Frank Ritter of Burr Ferry, LA, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her first husband; Andrew Bud Weldon and her parents, Robert John Ritter, Robert and Maggie Montz.
