Lake Arthur
A funeral mass for Mrs. Lula Mae Trahan Stevens, 85, will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Jay Alexius officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. until the time to leave for the church at 12:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m.
Lula passed away from this life on January 17th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 12th, 1939, to Clifton and Frances Trahan in Hayes, Louisiana. She met the love of her life, James Edward Stevens, in Lake Arthur, LA and they were married on May 27th, 1957. They were married for 65 wonderful years.
She cherished her years raising children and spoiling grandchildren. She co-owned a catering business with her lifelong best friend, Deanne Duhon, and loved to feed both her clients and her family. She and her husband enjoyed traveling with their friends and family. They built a home together and spent all 65 years in that same home. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and served as a member of the Catholic Daughters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Jackie Stevens of Lake Arthur, LA, Angie Stevens of Lake Arthur, LA, Greg (Julie) Stevens of Cypress, TX; daughter in law, Christy Stevens of Lake Arthur, LA; grandchildren, Brandi (Scott) Hallman, Cole (Jenny) Stevens, Ashley (Kevin) Stevens, Andrew (Minza) Stevens, Tawny (Jesse) Thomas, Cord (Amanda) Stevens, Tristan (Elizabeth) Shannon and Katie Hinzie; and sixteen great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James “Jimmy” Stevens; and her son, Randall “Randy” Stevens.
