Lula Mae Reed

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Buch Reed, 97, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service. Mrs. Reed died Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles. Mrs. Reed was a lifelong resident of Jennings. She was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and was also very active in the UMW. Mrs. Reed was a kindergarten teacher’s aide for many years and the children loved her. She spent many years in Bejing, China as a librarian at an International School until retirement at the age of 80. Survivors include several nieces; Sue (Robert) West, Julie (Oran) Richard, Lana (James) Devall, Lisa Peerson and nephews; Martin Peerson, Clark Buch, Graylon (Patricia) Buch and Tommy Buch. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Frederick and Lulu Mae Quigley Buch, her husband, H.H. “Hutt” Reed, four sisters and two brothers.
