Lake Arthur
Visitation for Mrs. Hanks will begin Friday, August 3, 2018 in Lake Arthur at 3:00 p.m. and will continue until 9:00 p.m. A Cursillo Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Mrs. Hanks was a lifelong resident of the Lake Arthur community. She followed her husband during his military career to many places around the world. After returning home she became active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3244 serving as chairman for the sales of Poppies for Cancer Research. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother. She enjoyed planting flowers, especially roses.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia (Dudley)LaCoste, Carolyn (Steven)Benoit, Linda (Gregory)Holland all of Lake Arthur and Paula (Timothy)LeJeune of Pine Island; sons, Roger (Sheila)Hanks of Welsh and Robert (Mary Menard)Hanks of Lake Arthur; one brother Eugene Landry of Lake Arthur; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Forrester Hanks and her parents Tholen and Edolia Conner Landry.
