Lt. Col. Frederick Felix Huber (Ret.)

Jennings A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lieutenant Colonel Frederick Fritz Felix Huber (Ret.), 80 at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday, March 14, 2011 will be from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Col. Huber died Friday, March 11, 2011 at 11:15 a.m. in the Crowley American Legion Hospital. Fritz was a native of Jennings and returned home in 1981. He earned a BA in economics from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas . He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and patriot. Fritz and Jacies love has been an inspiration for 58 years and he shared peace and good will with all who knew him. His love for flying, his family and our country led to a distinguished career as a fighter and bomber pilot in the US Air Force including two combat tours in Vietnam. He was our hero, the embodiment of a servant leader, living the example of Christ. Col. Huber is survived by his wife, Mary Jaclyn Robertson Huber of Jennings, LA; three sons, Frederick Rick Felix Huber, Jr. and wife Mary Lynne of Baton Rouge, LA, Mark Frederick Huber and wife Judy of Columbus, GA, and Paul Hans Huber and wife Jane of San Francisco, CA; a sister, Regina Catherine Huber Maher and husband William of Alexandria, VA; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Brian Everette, Emily Black Grey, John Bradley Everette, Elizabeth Black Monteleone, Allison Faith Huber, Andrew Frederick Huber, David Stuart Huber, Matthew Frederick Huber and Jack Reyes Huber and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick Huber, Jr. and Regina Simon Huber. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to: Air Force Aid Society, Inc.
