Funeral services for Mr. Louis Landry, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Jules Cemetery.

Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.

A rosary led by Deacon Mike Tramel will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.

Mr. Landry died at 2:38 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2016 in the Lafayette General Hospital.

Mr. Landry was a lifelong resident of Evangeline and was a retired oilfield tool pusher. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evangeline. He loved to fish, cook, and raise livestock and garden. He was very generous and would give his vegetables away. He loved his family and was very social. He was a leader in his community.

Survivors include his wife, Joann Daigle Landry of Evangeline; one daughter, Angie Fontenot and husband Jerry of Evangeline; two sisters, Alita Stewart and Lorice LeGros both of Jennings; three grandchildren, Nicole Fontenot Pillette and husband Draper, Tasha Ann Fontenot husband Josh Willis, Clifford Louis Fontenot; and seven great-grandchildren, Sarah Savoie, Draper Pillette, Jr., Kayaleigh Willis, Dralynn Pillette, Gabriel Willis, DeaSean Pillette, Blaklyn Ortego.

Mr. Landry is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Azalie Simon Landry; two sisters, Gladys Brown and Rena LeGros and one brother, Sidney Landry.
